FRSFreeState: ABC News: President Barack Obama Victory Speech 2012: Barack Obama Once Again Making American History

Before I get into President Obama's victory tonight, I want to mention the historic accomplishments. Of it, in 2008 Barack Obama became the first African American to be elected President of the United States, as well as the first African period to be elected. Chief of State anywhere in the World outside of Africa and the Caribbean, you might be able to make the case. That America is behind the rest of the Developed World in some key areas but Race Relations in not one. Of them where we are actually ahead of the rest of the Developed World and in 2012 Barack Obama becomes the first African American to be reelected President of the. United States, as well as the first African to be reelected Chief of State outside of Africa and. The Caribbean, these are simply things that no one else in the World of his racial and ethnic background. Have ever accomplished and if it does happen again and I believe it will and it will happen again in. America, Barack Obama will always be the first and the other historic accomplishment that happened tonight. Barack Obama being the second Democrat to be reelected President of the United States since Franklin Rosevelt.

I could mention that Barack Obama was the first President to be reelected with an economy this weak. Since 1936 again with FDR but a big part of that had to do with President Obama's competition. More interested in defeating one man then actually winning the Presidency and putting an agenda across that a majority of the country could get behind and reaching out to. Those people, if you've read this blog on a regular basis you know that I've been calling this election for the President. At least since the summer and why is that, its because of the Midwest, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as Pennsylvania. President Obama took a big step towards his reelection back in 2009 with the auto bailouts, that were unpopular at the time but. Once people in these States saw the benefits of them, like not losing their jobs or gaining jobs, Ohio being a State that. Has a lower unemployment rate then the national average and Mitt Romney coming out against the auto bailouts. In 2008-09, the people in these States could see the difference.

As far as President Obama's speech tonight, I thought he hit all of the tones thanking his Vice President. Thanking his staff, all of those volunteers, every American who voted and then making an attempt to appeal to people who didn't vote to him by basically saying that we are. A great country because of our political diversity but we've always come together when we needed. To address the problems in front of us and this is that moment again and its time to be the United States. Rather then the Red States or Blue States or something pretty close to that. I would've added something to the effect that we have huge problems ahead of us that have to be. Addressed quickly and its time for both parties to come together now to address them, because we have to solve them. But I believe he did a very good job there.

Just as a Democrat, this is one of the best nights of my life, to see Democrats win not only reelection. In the White House, but retain the Senate for the third straight election and if anything increasing their numbers by 1-2 seats in the Senate. And Democrats having now won 4-6 Presidential Elections, so all in all a great night for Democrats but still a lot of work. Ahead for us and Republicans in the short and long terms.
